My great-grandmother was born Lou Tyus born 1843?. She married Leesville Nelson and they had 9 children. One of the daughters is my grandmother Martha Nelson. They lived in Lauderdale/Haygood County Tennessee. I was told that Lou Tyus was Jewish. I am trying to confirm her heritage.
