Elmira, N. Y., Mar. 16 ( U. P.) – A hit and run driver who struck and fatally injured Clarence Uhl, 6, of Elmira, was sought by authorities today.
The youth was crossing the street in front of his home last night when the accident occurred. His father, who was sitting on the porch, saw the accident but was unable to get the license number of the automobile, which sped away.

Sandy, This was posted in reply to a item in the Obit Times. I found in Elmira, Chumung Co, NY in the 1930 Census a George F. and Marcia B Uhl along with daughters Mary E. and Marjory. The report said that Clarence was 6 in 1935 but he is not listed in this family nor another 1930 Census record. So he must have been born after the 1930 Census.

Hi Bob,
While researching my family "Uhl" in Elmira, I found a Grave for Clarence F Uhl B 1928 D 1935 in Woodlawn Cemetary. His parents were William H. Uhl and Mabel Melissa Shaw Uhl. (George Uhl is Williams brother). Don't know why this child is not listed on the 1930 Census, could just be an error.
George and Williams Father Fritz "Fred Uhl" B 1853 D 1921 is my GGG Uncle
