Robert J. Uhri Sr. is my Great Grandfather who died in 1991 im sure i attended that funeral but not sure. Leota (Trimmer) Uhri is my Great Grandmother. Im also looking for Carolyn S. (Uhri) Rottman, my Grandmother's, half brother supposably, but Robert Uhri jr. is my Great uncle and if you know anything about Robert J. I am looking for info on William C. Uhri. He was married to my grandmother's sister Katherine Mary Foland. They were probably married around 1920. They lived at Arlington VA. Katherine died there Jan 1960. She is buried in St. Louis, MO. William died about 8 years later. They had a daughter named Ellen. Could this be short for Eleanor? I know that Ellen married, but I would like to know if she is still alive and if she had any children. Found a Robert James Uhri in Sella Nebraska who died in 1999. Can not connect him directly to Robert James Uhri Jr...me but suspect he could have been involved somehow. thanks for your interest.

Looking for Abigail Urie (Uhri,Uri)

Abigail (1719-1775) was born in Hunterdon, NJ, and is said to be of German stock. she married Samuel Shinn, a Quaker, in the German Reformed Church abt. 1740. They later left NJ, went south and finally settled in Mecklenburg/Cabarrus Co., NC.

Although her name is spelled in the Scottiss manner, Urie, I suspect that it may have been Uhri or Uri originally. Can anyone connect her to a NJ or Pa Uhri or Uri family?

I am looking for information about a Maria UHRI who was my mother's godmother at her baptism in February of 1905. My mother was Cecilia Hindera, daughter of Albert and Mary Ann Hindera. The baptism took place at a Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska (Pawnee County). As many relatives lived in Johnson County, NE, Maria UHRI may have been from there, most likely near Tecumseh or St. Mary (town). I'm very interested in learning as much as possible about her. My name is Carolyn Uhri and I am also doing research in the Nebraska area. My grandfather, Max Prudler came to Nebraska from New York on one of the Orphan Trains with his 2 brothers and a sister. An Edward Uhri from Humboldt, Nebraska took Max in. Max was given the last name of Uhri but was never adopted by Edward Uhri. The Uhris were quite a prominent family in the Humboldt area (Richardson County). I believe that they came from Switzerland. I am also doing research on my grandmother's side of the family (family name is Rist or Reist). The Reist family also came from Switzerland and I had read that the Uhri family came to Nebraska after the Reists had settled in Humboldt. I'm sorry that I don't have any information on Maria Uhri, but you might want to check out the website below.
