Hi, Lynn -- I now work as a volunteer at the SLC Family History Library. Yesterday a fine gentleman from Columbus, Mississippi, was visiting here and told me that he knew an Uithoven girl in Columbus, "really sharp, really smart girl." So, I felt encouraged to try again at a family research blog, possibly under the rubric of "Jan Uithoven." (I don't have much luck with technology, but...) Try, try again.
Meanwhile, since we last chatted, my brother Ron L. (who also lives out West, near me) paid a professional to research our Uithoven and Vos lines. Hundreds of family names now available....Vos, Millenaar, van Dyk, etc.

My mother-in-law is the grand daughter of Jan Uithoven and Frances Beard Uithoven. He passed away before she was born but I have a copy of the picture of him on my website under family pictures.

www.geocities.com/lewisvickers/index.html

Roy Lindorf, 412 Arenoso Lane #401, San Clemente, CA 92672, has cancer and is still living. His brother & sister already passed away. I would LOVE to learn more about Henrietta's history - because my Dad is taciturn, with a failing memory.... He wrote a history of his father's life but did not write a history of Jan Uithoven's family. My mom, Myla, used to send Christmas cards, etc. to the Uithoven's in Mississippi, but she passed away about 18 months ago. Do you need info on the Jan Uithoven ancestry? - my mom's research can be found thru familysearch.org. My daughter, suzanne riddle (of West jordan, UT) is also doing research on this Dutch family.

Jan Uithoven, widower, came to America from the Netherlands with his 2nd wife, formerly surnamed Vos -- and six children. They settled first in Pella, Iowa; later on lived in Mississippi. Want to share info - Louise

Hi Louise, we are cousins. My great grandmother was Henrietta Uithoven Little, she was one of the first born in Pella, Iowa. She lived in MS then moved to Hanford, CA where sisters Kate and Gert where living.
Her eldest daughter, also Henrietta, was in contact with her Lindorf cousins Dorothy, Roy and Paul? I think one of them is still alive. Please contact me at lynndball@canada.com. Thanks!
