Madeline Ullom was born in O'Neill, Holt County, Nebraska January 1, 1911. She served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1938 to 1964 and was one of the American nurses who were Prisoners of War in the Phillipines in WWII.
I just saw a copy of the Holt County Historical Society Newsletter for June, 2003.
This Friday, July 11, 2003, They will be opening the MADELINE Ullom EXHIBIT. They received a bequest from her estate. All of the items in the exhibit were donated by Madeline.
She also had an older sister, Cathern, who was in the Army Nurse Corps.
Both are buried in O'Neill, Nebraska.
Both are registered at the Memorial for Women in Military Service at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
