LORRETTA J. UMFLEET Boone Grove, formerly of Gary, Indiana, Lorretta J. Umfleet, age 73, of Boone Grove, formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 6, 1936 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Elmer and Rosie (Krulik) Roth and graduated from Calumet High School. Lorretta had worked as a Librarian at Grissom Elementary School in Gary, was a dispatcher for Bay Trucking, and had been a House Parent for mentally handicapped individuals.
She is survived by her 4 daughters, Judith (Mike) Closser of Missouri, Jeanne (Randy) Potter of Florida, Joanne (Joe) Dansereau of Boone Grove, Janet (Steven) Kinney of Portage;
one sister, Marge (Al) Buffington of Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 brother.
Following cremation a celebration luncheon will be held Saturday, June 27th at 1:00 PM, at Washington Evangelical Free Church, 3805 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso. Moellerfuneralhome.com.
