I am an umscheid also. My dads family the Umscheid's moved to san diego from chicago back in the late 60's. Before chicago they were in Atlanta. My Grandfather umscheid was also in the navy. I never met him he died when my dad was 16. I know nothing of the rest of the umscheid family.

I found a Gerald S. (Sebastian) Umscheid listed in the 1930 census in Kansas with Viola (presumably Zoeller) wife, Charles E., Mary E. and Fredland? listed as children.

Was Viola's maiden name Riat, b. 1906 in Wamega?

MY DAD,S NAME IS FRITZ G UMSCHEID BORN 01/21/1930 DIED 11/02/2001 HIS MOTHER.S NAME WAS VIOLA UMSCHEID. HIS BROTHER.S NAME IS CHARLES
UMSCHEID HE LIVES IN KANSAS.

Hi my name is suzzy umscheid.
MY fathers family started in germany,
they moved to kansas city and wichita and topeka where my dad was born then he joined the navy where he meet my mom.I just want to know more about my dad side of the family.I,am 43 years old a widower.
MY dad died in nov,2,2001 in San Diego.

I am look for my half sister hiedie umscheid she was born
in the 1930s in or around Aschaffenburg germany. our father
wasBonrventurr Umscheid. her mother was Helmene Umscheid. she had a brother Walter born1934 he dide1996.i am in contact with his children but no one knows aney thing about Hiedie. as i am now 50 and not geting aney younger

I have just found GGGgrandmother, Mary Umscheid, born in San Antonio, Texas 1n 1856. She married Joseph Schmidt around 1875 and lived in Chicago around 1880.
