The funeral for Mrs. Doretta Scott will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Dwane Baker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Greg, Keith, Jonathan and Gregory Baker Jr., Nicholas Newsome and Jody Dewitt. Burial will follow in the Jeffrey Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Monday).
Mrs. Scott, 86, Dexter, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at 7:25 a.m. at Spring Creek Health Care. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith tabernacle Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Willie (Jack) Scott, and three brothers, Henry, Eugene and John Underhill. Born May 29, 1922, in Trigg County, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna Whitman Underhill.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Underhill and husband, Moscoe, Dexter; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
