My father's great grandmother was Esther Underwood, daughter of Achilles Underwood and Terugona of Kadavu.

She married Frank Rodan and had a daughter Filomena Rodan. Filomena married Jack Stewart and later John Stewart. I am a descendant of Jack and Philomena.

My mother Esther May Underwood born 7/15/1932 to Elmer Underwood b.5/11/1894 d.4/18/63 and Charlotte Neilson Pentland b.7/31/21 d.1/13/1972.

They had three children, Robert Norman Underwood b.5/27/1928, Esther May Underwood Debsky b.7/15/1932, and Mary Jane Underwood Von Moss b.6/29/1934. . .two others died as infants.

Elmer Underwood was born to Joe Underwood b.12/1850 of Wigan/Manchester England. . .and Mary Underwood b.12/1857, they arived to these shores around 1895. The Underwoods of Manchester were:

The Troup County Archives has a cemetery book and database that might help you. Their website is www.trouparchives.org. In Muscogee County, try the genealogy department at the library. Their website is www.thecolumbuslibrary.org. There are several Bonner family members buried at Standing Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery in Standing Rock, AL (Chambers County).

Any one have any information about this person? She was born in 1870. I am trying to make a connection between her and James Henry Bonner b.1881 - d.1960. His parents were Henry T. Bonner b.abt 1844 and Carrie Jenkins b.1840.

I am researching line of James Newton Underwood. I believe James Newton to be the son of William Wedgebars youger son William. If one could offer info it would be appreciated. I have a picture of James Newton and Military Records. James Newton Underwood was born in Cherokee Georgia and appears to be in 1850 census in the household of William Underwood.

If this is the correct William I am trying to determine which mother of Wedgebars three wives he belonged to.

There are some deeds in Spartanburg, SC that have a William Wheeler mentioned from 1796-1809. The one that married the widow Priscilla showed up in court to collect the widow's dower portion of Nimrod's estate, while the guardian of Willis Underwood collected his portion, This was about 1810. In another deed William Wheeler and James Zachious state that they are heirs of "our father" William Wheeler, deceased. This was in 1802. I don't know how James Zachious is related to either William Wheeler, whether as a bastard, step brother, or maybe the abstract forgot to add Wheeler after the Zachious. The William Wheeler that married Priscilla is NOT the William Wheeler that married Elizabeth Hayes later. That William, son of John, was born in 1780. I think that Nimrod was dead by 1795 as Priscilla deeds some livestock to her minor son Willis to the care of her brother in law John Underwood to be given to Willis when he is 21. She might have been getting prepared to marry William Wheeler. Why did it take until 1809/1810 for the estate of Nimrod Underwood to be finished with probate and final monies distributed to the child and widow? I would like to know if the William Wheeler deceased is the William Wheeler showing up in Loudon Co, VA as an overseer for Drummond Wheeler. I am researching Wheelers in VA, SC, KY, MO, etc

Thomas' mother was Sarah and his step-father was William Underwood. Does anyone know who his father was? Also, why is Thomas Pellet so prominent? What was his claim to fame, so to speak?

Has anyone ever replied to your question? I'm an underwood descendant, and my cousin in LA confirmed that Blair is in our family, so now I'm just trying to find proof. I have most of the Underwoods back to Jaunt (Underwood) a former slave from Greene County, AL.

According to Wikipedia is father is Frank Underwood, but I don't have a Frank Underwood connected to my tree as of yet.

I do have some newspaper clippings about his death, as well as when he was attached in Ba and two of his children were killed and eaten.

This Chet Underwood was a grandson to the original Chet who came to Madison Co. from Green Co., KY. Chestiter was married twice: 1) Sarah Combs (most likely d/o Wm Combs & Polly Skaggs) and 2) Mary (Polly) Combs (note she MAY also be a daughter of Wm & Polly)
