I really don't know much about him other than he met and married my grandmother in Warrenton (or somewhere nearby). My mom said he was Indian with long black hair and he was a preacher that moved here with his family. Also, my mom mentioned that he stayed in Georgia awhile after the rest of the family moved here. I vaguely remember her mentioning something about he had a head injury before coming here. They were farmers. I know he was buried at an old cementary behind a church here in town but the tombstones are too old to read. My mom had 11 sisters and brothers and she was the youngest. We have family reunions every two years and the family tree starts with Benjamin Upsher and Della Kendrick. I would love to discuss this further, email me directly at rthlong@yahoo.com. Sheba, what year was your grandfather born? I did find a Benjamin Upsher in Upper 19th, Harris, Ga. in 1880, but he was married to a lady name Mollie. There are quite a number of Upshers in that location. A little more info on them would be helpful. Thank you for your response.

Hi, my Mom's maiden name was Upsher. She moved with her family from Warrenton, GA when she was young. Both of her parents passed away here. My grandfather's name was Benjamin and my grandmother's name was Della. Do you have any information about either of them? I did spend a lot of time with my grandmother when I was small, but my grandfather passed before I was born. Does this help and would you send me any information you may have? I check my email each day, so I'll be waiting to hear from you.

I know very little about the Upshur family because of my grandparents seperation but I also have relatives from the accomac/melfa area on both sides. I've been talking recently to my mother about my fathers aunts that live/lived in the Phi./PA area and will share this information as soon as it is available also if you have any information to share let me know, This is my first time on this board.
