Although not certain that there is a family link, I would suggest that there is a 99% chance that one does exist. I am interested in a William Brabazon Urmston born 11/02/1828 at Woodlands, Chigwell. His father was Sir James Brabazon Urmston who was a senior official with the East India Company based in Canton. His mother was Elizabeth, whose father John Hanson, was Lord Lieutenant of Essex and a Director of the Bank of England.

William enlisted in the navy in 1847 where, while serving on HMS Queen, he took part in the Crimea War. During this conflict he was wounded 4 times in the trenches before Sebastopol. It was due to his bravery that he came to the attention of Lord Raglan, and after the war was advanced to the rank of Commander. His bravery was recognised with the award of the Legion d'Honneur from France and the Order of Medjidieh from the Sultan of Turkey.

William died on half pay as a Captain on 18/12/1869.

For further research I would suggest looking at the records of the East India Company. Hope this of help.
