Looking for the date of birth of Idell Urwin parents William & Mary Urwin she married Albert Charles Adams in 1942 Lethbridge found her address in 1995 2002 Phone & Address book to be living in Perth Ontario i found Albert Charles & Idell Adams living in 3501 Connaught Avenue Montreal in the 1974 voters list also a Deborah Adams living at the same address could she be their daughter i would be grateful for any info

My great grandfather, John Spoors, was the brother of Thomas Spoors. In the 1911 census Thomas was 67, his wife Mary Jane was 61, plus children Joseph Hammond 39, Esther 26, William Lincoln 23, Richard Hammond 20 (he died in 1918) Mary Isabella
19 and granddaughter Mary Jane 3. Their address was
2 Tempest St. Stella on tyne. They also seem to have lived at 5 Stella Cottages. Although there was no Mary Rose the rest of the information seems to fit.If you want more information on the Spoors family get in touch. Judy Hirst (Nee Spoors)

Alan, you must be one of my relations. Thomas Spoors and Mary Jane Hammond were my g-grandparents. My grandmother was Mary Rose Spoors and Thomas Michael (Tot) was her brother. Richard Hammond and Margaret Wade were her parents. I have several questions about the Spoors family. Maybe you can answer some of them.

I have been to Stella twice. I met Raymont Smith (May's son) and Murial who is Tot's grand daughter. I went to England in 1988 and 1989 (I think those were the dates). I got a copy of the anniversary book from St. Mary's and St Thomas Aquinas in Stella. Raymond has a family picture of the Spoors that I copied.

My greatgrand parents were Thomas Spoors and Mary Jane Hammond. My grandfather Thomas Michael and my father Richard Hammond Spoors (1918 -2009) named after (I believe) an uncle who was killed in the great war. My elder brother is also called Richard Hammond. I have lived in Blaydon on Tyne all my life, one mile from Stella where my granparents were married.

Hi I wonder if this is the same person . This was a post I receieved in 2000 that told me he went to the USA. the iformation is correct abou this wife so I know it is the right one.
Robert Urwin or Irwin came to the U.S. about 1840 from Northumberland, England, with wife Elizabeth Porter and six children: Robert-1826, Henry-1828, Jane-1832, Elizabeth-1835, Ellen Jane-1838 and Mary-1840.
Settled in Perry Co., Indiana. Lived a while in Illinois.
Robert Jr married Jane Edgley 1852. Their children Elizabeth-1853,Charlotte-1856, Mary Ellen-1858, Jane-1861, Henry-1863, Robert Lincoln-1865, Annie-1868.
Jane is buried in Coal Valley Illinois.

I now think my line is a different Henry Urwin b 1764 who married another Jane Errington in 1783 at Chester le St ( parents of Henry possibly Richard Orwen & Frances Wheatley who married 1761 @ Houghton le Sp & had 13 children.) Son Henry & wife Jane Errington had 7 (known)children one of whom was James Urwin bap 1795 at All Saints Newcastle. James married Margaret Thompson at Monkwearmouth in 1825 Their son William Urwin b 1839 at Pittington is my branch (There is another James Urwin marrying another Margaret Thompson 1814 at Heworth. Also a James Orwin marrying an Elizabeth Errington at Heworth in 1783- just to confuse!)Hope this helps

Hi, I know it's a long long time since you posted this comment and I hope your still in contact with this site.
I came opon your comments whilst searching endlessly for Urwins....I know there is plenty to choose from but trying to find the right ones is a nightmare. But I am related to Armstrong and Jane Urwin through their daughter Jane and have been trying to find out about Jane's brothers, James, Robert and John.And also anything about Armstrongs family. I believe James is your G G Grandfather, any info into the Urwins would be very very welcome.

Hello my name is Molly Urwin. My Father was Francis Stanley Urwin. born Newcastle on Tyne, County Durham. His Father was William Urwin. he had about six or seven children.

Think father Thomas - William born Gilesgate Durham and had brother Thomas born 1785.
William a Wherryman in Newburn Northumberland and married Jan 1813 to Isabella Richardson, and son Thomas born later in year.
Both father and son killed in the Washington F Pit disaster Aug 1851.

Had son George 1895 (my grandfather) and daughter Dorothy 1897(died in infancy). left the family home between 1898 and 1901 census. can find no record in 1901 census, army lists etc and no death record. Anyone any ideas, please?!

George Henry Urwin was the youngest of 9 children living with John and Annie Urwin in the 1900 Federal Census for Sweetwater, Wyoming. John and Ann Urwin are listed in the 1881 British Census with 5 children, 4 that survived to come to the USA in 1884, and were living in Penshaw, Durham, England. Hope this helps.

Mentions mother living at the North Moor
gertting old and infirm and coming to live
with the Taylor's in Hesson (Hetton??) till
12-30-1858 when she died. Also mentions a
brother gone to the gold fields in Australia
and a sister Mary and husband Frank in
Sunderland, a sister jane and husb William
Grieves living at Hesson?? and nephew John
waugh and father Peter all still in Eng.

my link is Eleanor Urwin born 1809 at Byker she married John Robson in Lamesley in 1826.
Jane Errington's maiden name was Jane Douglas she married a Richard Errington in 1790 but he died at sea around 1795
it was after that she married Armstrong Urwin.
Please let me have the past Generations of Armstrong Urwin and other info you may have.

I have some of James and Elizabeths decendents but have nothing on their ancestors, except that the Ingrams were somehow associated with the MacGregors Clan. I found some information from my Grandmother's papers and know for certain we are related. My Great Grandmother was Nora Belle Ingram/Riley...daughter of James and Elizabeth (nee Urwin)Ingram. I have some info on their decendants...but not on your branch. I have Andy Marrying Nellie Shaw and that is all and I have nothing further on James or Elizabeth's ancestry, other than James Mother was of the MacGregor Clan in Scotland. I will look into the history of Oto/Cass Cty here at the Library in Lincoln but if you could fill in any other details, you have time for, I would surely appreciate it!

Would you have any research data on the URWIN's from Northumberland? I'm actually searching for IRWIN's, but I found it on the 1851 census as URWIN. Andrew IRWIN or URWIN was born at Corbridge, Northumberland, in 1821 or 22, and I've found several IRWINs of both spelling in the general area. His son Thomas, b. 1852,my g-grandfather,came to the USA late 1879 or early 1880 and initially settled in Westmoreland Co. PA where several IRWINs resided. I'm sure some were related, but I've not found the connection yet. Any data would be appreciated.
