Actually we are all spread out, some in Long Beach, others in the San Bernardino County. My mother grew up in Cuidad Guzman, Jalisco. We think her family originally came from Galicia, Spain. Where is your family originally from?

Hello,

You are lucky to have such a resource with your 100 year old aunts. I too am descendant from a Jalisco Urzua. My g-grandmother was Basilia Rodriguez Urzua - she married Norberto Chavez and had a son that was born in "La Union de Guadalupe, Jalisco."

If it isn't too much of an imposition - could you see if these names ring a bell with your aunts?

thankyou.

Hello my name is Angie and my grandfather is also Urzua from my mother's side and he was born in La Barca, Jalisco, Mx. I am trying to find out some information about the Urzua family too. Look my GG Grandfathers name is Emiliano Urzua and he is also from Jalisco, Mexico at least this is what we think. You had mentioned that you have g aunts that are about 100 years old see if they know a story about a young kid that was taken from his family at the age between 5 and 7. My GG grandfather was taken from his family at a young age but he remembered his name and last name. A couple of years later he was shining shoes and this gentleman asked him what was his name and he told him that his name is Emiliano Urzua then the man said to him that if he knew that his family was looking for him and he said no the man told him that he would help him and take him to his family but the man died of a heart attack. So my GG grandfather was unable to find out were his family was. So the years passed and my GG Grandfather married Maximina Covarrubios and then they had my G Grandfather Nemecio Urzua I don't know if they had any more kids but I will find out. So then my G Grandfather married Natividad Zaragosa, were later she changed her name to Manuela Urzua cause she was running away from the law, we were told that she had killed someone and this is the reason she changed her name. My grandmother Maria Urzua gave me my grandfathers birth certificate and this is the reason I know the exact names of my grandparents. If you find out anything about this story please email me at angieuribe_67@msn.com by the way the maiden name of my grandmothers is Haro. I believe my grandfather was a pesant at her ranch when they met and married, my G grandfather was not to happy about this, but you know how it is with love.
thank you once again.

Angie Haro-Urzua-Urbe

angieuribe_67@msn.com

hope to hear from you

Hello Oscar, I see you want to find out about the Urzua Family, this is from my mothers side of the family. My GG Grandfathers name is Emiliano Urzua and we were told that he was taken from his family at the age of 5 but he remembered his name. I don't know who raised him but we know that he kept his name. We were also told that a teacher told him that his family was looking for him and that he would help him find them by then I beleive my GG Grandfather was about 12 years old. He was unable to find his family, the teacher had a heart attack and died. So years passed and he then married Maximina Covarrubios and they had my G grandfather Nemecio Urzua I do not no the names of his sister or brothers but my G grandfather Nemecio married Natividad Zaragosa were they had my grandfather Juan Urzua and his brothers names are Manuel, Jesus, Santana,Sacramento, Nicolas and the sisters are Carmen and Maria. I don't know if we are related but my grandfather was born in La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico. I do know that the Urzua name is from Spain but do not know from what part of Spain and I do know that my GG Grandmother is from Spain. I was told that she was tall blond hair, blue eyes. We have a couple of our family members that are tall and two of them are my brothers over 6 feet tall. But my grandfather from my dad's side of the family is from Spain, we have g grandparents and gg grandparents from Spain on all four sides of our family. This is just crazy, but I would like to find out if you ever heard of Emiliano Urzua and if anyone know anything about his story.
thank you once again and I hope this will help or we can just help each other find out more about the Urzua's

Angie email me if you want angieuribe_67@msn.com

We were just down there in December (Leticia, Armando, Arturo, Jaime, Roberto Milian). Going back over the posts, I do not see what your grandfather's name is. What is your grandfather's name?

I'm from Salinas, but lived in Sacramento. My dads name is Ruben, his brothers Manuel(died) Jesus, Lupio. His sisters Irene, Norma, Aurora, Elizabeth and Teresa.

Hi...My father-in-law, Pedro Urzua, had a SISTER named Transito. Her family resided in San Bernardino, CA. My father-in-law was born in 1930 and died in 1997 in San Antonio , Tlayacapan (municipio de Chapala), Jalisco. He did spend time in Oregon (Woodburn) with his sons and daughters-Ruben, MariaElena, Teresa, Pedro Jr, Raul, Eriberto, Rocio, Jesus, Jorge. Where are you located? Can you tell me a little more about your immediate family-parents, grandparents? My father-in-law had some siblings that lived in California for some part of their life--Jesus in Sacramento, Transito in San Bernardino, and Miguel (who we think still lives in Salinas).

Hi...I see your post is several years old. There are several Urzua families here in Oregon. We also have Urzua relatives in Salinas, Berkley, and San Bernandino.

Hello...my husband's last name is Urzua Herrera. My husband's name is Ruben (named after his uncle Ruben). His father's name was Pedro Urzua Lopez. He was born in 1930 and had seven siblings (Ruben, Jesus, Miguel, Esperanza, Transito, Concepcion). They all grew up in San Antonio (municipal of Chapala), Jalisco. My father-in-law's parents were Jesus Urzua Galindo and Petra Lopez Estrada.

My husband is interested in learning more about the family and its origins.

I am from the URZUA family. I do not know much about my family since my great grand father died when my grandfather was 3 years old, so we lost touch with the Urzua side. Most of my family is from Jalisco, Mexico, but some live in Colima, where I know there is another family with the same name but with a "s". anyway, i will research some more. I have three Urzua great-grand aunts who are over 100 years old, so i'll see what they can tell me. if you find anything, email me please!
thank you,
mirla urzua-ramos
