I'd love to hear any info. After posting the first message I was able to get in touch with Uthes in Chicago... son or daughter of Leonard and Betty. Lloyd Kenneth Smith was my grandfather's brother aka my grand uncle. All those who knew Lloyd say he was quite a partier and played piano in various types of shows throughout the midwest. I have several family photos of Lloyd. The Uthes I contacted sent me a lot about Lloyd... a "post-dated" birth certificate and some other neat things.

Lloyd's brother Stanley, my grandfather, moved from Brainerd, Minnesota, from where they both hailed, to Chicago in 1937 and died there in 1963. It is reasonable to think that Stanley chose Chicago because Lloyd was already there and that perhaps people who are now living and knew Lloyd also knew my grandfather.
