I am looking for information on the parents of Manuel Valdes. He was married to Francisca Valdes and had several children--Manuel, Charles, Norberto, Florencio (my grandfather) Rogelio, and Juan. I understand that either Manuel or HIS father was adopted in Cuba and given the name Valdes which was the name of the Orphanage's founder. Manuel was born approximately 1852 in Havana, Cuba according to Ondina Juan, a relative to whom I corresponded. Anyone who has information, please email me.

I'm looking for Enrique "Henry" Valdes or Valdez. He was born in Brownsville Texas about 1915. He did some boxing (amatuer or semi-pro I'm not sure which) in Brownsville, Harlingen, and other places in Cameron County in the early 1930's. His father is Jose Valdes(z) and his brothers are Alfredo and Jose Jr. His mother was named Felipa. He joined the CCC in the late 1930's and was stationed in Texas and Arizona. He married Celia Calderon in 1939 and died in an operation in San Francisco one year later. Any information on the Valdes(z) from Brownsville Texas would be appreciated!

Hortensia was the sister of my great gandfather Esteban (I think this was his name). My grandfather that is in Mazatlan-Mexico, Rodolfo Farber Holderness will know for sure. I believe all brothers and sisters left Mazatlan except for my great grandfather that stayed there and raised his family in Mazatlan. My father and grandfather (both in Mazatlan) will probably have more information regarding this issue.
Who was John (Juan Cristobal) and Inez Farber? I am guessing he was my great-great grandfather that arrived from Hamburg in Germany to Mazatlan Mexico, although he was orginally from Munich in Germany.
Looking forward to hearing from you and sorry for the delay on the answer. I also sent you an email regarding this.
Thank you...

Lisa, where are you guys located? Are you in touch with any of the Farber family that moved from Mazatlan to California at the end of 1800's or begining of 1900's?
VALDES/Z OF TEXAS

I am searching for info/responses of descendents of EUSEBIO VALDES/Z AND MARIA DEONICIA JUAREZ CADENA from the area of San Antonio, Texas, circa mid 1800s.

This is what little I have:

Eusebio Valdes may have been from Goliad and his mother was Paula. She may have remarried to a Nabor Holguin and had Francisco Holguin.

Maria Deonicia Cadena was daughter of Francisco Cadena and Monica Diaz Juarez. Deonicia was born in San Antonio, TX on 4-12-1830. Her siblings are Jose Pascual Juarez Cadena and Melchora Juarez Cadena.

Eusebio and Deonicia's daughter (the only one I know of) is Maria de los Santos Cadena Valdes born circa 1857 and married Pantaleon Sanchez Herrera on 3-1873 in Pleasanton, TX. (The Herreras were of Candela, Coah., MX)

I show that Eusebio may have moved to the new colony of Jimenez, Coahuila, Mexico, probably when many from San Antonio were given land there by Mexico. Their son (my grandfather) was born in Mexico in 1900. My mother was then born in the Texas in 1930.

If anyone has any info they can provide on any of the above people, or, especially, if you are a descendent of any of the above please respond. Any info is appreciated.

thanks,
martie

Hello Rodolfo,

Great to hear from you cousin! Hortensia Farber was my husbands Great Grandmother. She married Ricardo Valdes and had several children, one of them my husbands Grandfather Richard Valdes. He had several children, one of them my husbands father Robert Valdes. My husbands name is also Robert Valdes. I assume you descend from one of Hortensia's sister's? What exactly is your lineage? Do you have ancestral history on either the Farber's or the Valdes'? I only go as far back as John and Inez Farber and I know that Ricardo Valdes' father was Evaristo Valdes but I don't know the mother's name. No we are not in touch with any of the Farber's here in the states but would love to be. Can you help out there? We are in Florida, the Tampa Bay area. The Celia Farber that you found was one of Hortensia's sister. We are so looking forward to hearing from you. You may e-mail us at the address above.
