hi, my name is Jesus Valerio and my Father's name is Jose . His father, my grandfather, is named Ruben Valerio. My dad moved to California from a place called Ocotlan, Jalisco near the city of Guadalajara. he can trace his family there to his great grandfather.... hope this is useful.

By the way, I forgot to mention, my father Lowell Edward Lawrence passed way last November 1, 2007, he was 91 years old when he died.

Did your Uncle Johnny Valerio live in New York City?

My Father Lowell E. Lawrence was a Corporal in the 9th Evacuation Hospital during W.W.II. your Uncle was one of my Father's Sergeants. I have a pretty good idea where they traveled during the war. Oxford, England, Oran, North Africa, Sicily, Naples, Italy, Southern France and Germany.
I have some photos that my Father had from his years overseas, some of them have your Uncle Johnny Valerio in them. I would be more than willing to share them with you. If you could send me your name and e-mail address, then I will start sending you some photos!

My Uncle is John Valeri (Was Valerio but O was dropped by immigration) I believe he did serve in WWII he was born around 1920 and had an older brother Tony who also served. He was from Picinisco in Italy and immigrated to the Detroit Mi area as an adolescent. Not sure if this is the right connection? let me know what you think

Sorry but it seems like we do not connect. My great grandfather's birth name was Liberato Valerio but he changed it to the spanish Librado. The few remaining Valerio's now live in a small town in Zacatecas near the border with Jalisco and before him I have no more records of his Valerio branch in Mexico. His family hailed from Campania and Molise, Italy. Hopefully we can both find more connections.

Hello,
I am looking for any one with information on a Johnny Valerio who was a Sgt. in the 9th Evacuation Hospital during World War II. My father Lowell E. Lawrence was a corpral, also in the 9th Evac.
They were in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Southern France and Germany during the war. My father has passed away, but I am trying to map out the rought that the 9th Evac took during the war. I do have some information, but am looking to fill in some gaps in information.

My maternal Grandfather was Guiliano Valerio (later changed to Julian Valeri after immigrating to the US). He married Carmela Cairo also of Frosinone province. They were born and married in Italy and came to the US sometime in the 1920's, settling in Detroit, MI. Looking for any info or potential relations.

In Loving Memory of FAUSTINA "NANA" VALERIO Jan. 18, 1913 - S pt. 11, 2007 The matriarch of the Valerio Family peacefully entered eternal rest early Tuesday morning, surrounded by her adoring family. Affectionately known as Nana to most, Faustina was born in Alamosa, Colorado, where she spent her youth and was married to Adolpho Valerio. She and Adolpho had two sons, Nicholas and Gabriel, and adopted son Lawrence from her sister Susan. Adolpho and Gabriel preceded her in death in 1950. Strong-willed and ever-loving, Nana persevered and overcame heartbreak with her su rviving sons, and with Nicholas, moved to Los Angeles in 1951. Here, she thrived and saw her family grow over the next 50 years: she welcomed two more generations as well as always embracing extended family and loved ones. Nana is survived by her sons, Lawrence and Nicholas; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Nana's boundless love, laughter, wisdom and memory will be forever cherished by those whose lives she touched. Rosary will be held on Sept. 14, 2007 at noon at Holy Family Church in South Pasa dena with Mass immediately following. Internment will be with her husband and son at Mount Calvary Church in Alamosa, Colorado.

He was born in 1888, in either Bitritto, or Maguara(sp?), or Aquila. He has no family listed on the manifest from Italy. He eventually moved to Stockton and married a May Mitchell. Thank you.

My grandfather, Ramon Procopio Sanchez Valerio had a barber shop in Colorado. He died before the 1950s though. He also lived in New Mexico (Las Vegas). Married Nastora Maria Garcia Montoya they had 15 childern.

Lou , my fathers' name is Francisco Valerio Rodriguez and he was born in 1916, he still lives, but do not want to talk about it, I don't know if my grandmother had sisters or brothers (Rodriguez side).

Dear Lou, always wanted to know the origin of our last name, but our father was always reluctant about it. I think he was italian or first generation born mexican from an italian. I assume that he lived between 1880 to 1930. I also understand (not comfirmed) he was fitting in the mexican revolution. If you have any information and want to share it , would be great. Than you!! I am also looking for valerio ancesters/family history...my grandfather was from San Miguel in the Azores,Portugal..born 1868..came to the U.S.A. as a teenager,I believe along with his brother.They landed in the Massachusetts area (Fall River) My grandfather's name was Emmanuel Maurico Valerio and his brother's name was Amos (Maurico )Valerio...does anything sound familiar ?

This is a story about my grandfather-previous message posted..the story goes like this...my grandfather and a bunch of other guys built their own boat in the Azores and used it to get to the USA..I haven't found him on any passenger list of ships so far,so the story may very well be true..anyone out there with any info. on a similar story ?? thanks, carol

Hi Pat. I've now got Mattia Valerio in my family tree, not as a blood relative, but linked through marriage. I've seen his passenger records on www.EllisIslandRecords.org, as well as the following one for his brother Francesco:

Hello David. The name of the village is almost certainly Filignano, which was in Campobasso province until 1970, when that province was split into two. It's now in the province of Isernia. You should be able to simply request a copy of his birth certficate from the town hall: Comune di Filignano, Filignano (IS), Italy.
