Peter & Rosina Valiant, NY
Fellow Valliant Researchers:
I have just started to try to unravel my husbands side of the family. His grandmother, Genevieve Haley (born 1896, upstate NY) was brought up by Peter (b. 1849) and Rosina (b. Naylor, 1842) Valiant in Willsboro, NY. Both Peter and Rosina were French Canadian. I am not quite clear on Genevieve's relation, perhaps grandaughter.
I have letters to Genevieve from Frank C. Turner (Keeseville, NY) who was Rosina's great grandson. He was trying to research the family back in the early 1960's.
I also have a photo of two young men playing baseball (circa 1900?). The name on the back is W. H. Vallient. I will gladly scan and send it to anyone interested.
If anyone has information on this family, I will gladly share any further information I find as I go along.
Thanks.
Annie
