She later moved to the Three Rivers, Mi area and married into the Rahn family. She is buried in Moorepark cemetary north of Three Rivers.

Hello, I grew up on Flower Rd in the Town of Brunswick. My father had told me a woman use to live at the end of the road sand her last name was Flower. The house built there is from the early 1700's and was built by a man with the last name Snyder. Hope this helps.

Hi Christoper!

So nice to hear from you. Sorry for the delay in responding. I must have missed your original message. I loved Kitty so much and was very close with her until her death. I never met my Grandfather since he died before I was born but my family was always very close with kitty and her son Loyd, Jr. Did you ever get to meet Kitty? She was so much fun and so loving. I miss her dearly.

Regards,

Susan Claggett

Harry J was born Mar 1900 according to the 1900 census.

Cora and Alexander evidently divorced, he shows up in the 1930 census as divorced.
Hello, I am responding via this family regarding a post in your family tree for a George A. Begor. Would like to collaborate with you regarding Hanah Freeman Begor and also George. Hanah Freeman Begor was my Gr.Gr.Grandmother married to Henry Begor (1st husband) Their children were Louisa L. Begor (Spear) born 1861 , Henry born 1863 and George A. born 1869. Hanah it seems was left a widow at about age 30-33 and she remarried John/Jonathan Begor a brother to Henry. they were siblings of 7 born to Alexander Bourgard (Begor) and Susan Olier.

Hanah remarried to John/Johnathan in 1880 and had more children. George age (11) which would match his birth year of 1869 in the 1880 census, was a stepson/nephew to Jonathan . Jonathan was first married to Nancy Courier abt 1856 and then to Hanah Freeman Begor in 1880 according to my research notes. How does your family tie into the Begor line, You may see George listed in the 1870 census with Henry and Louisa and Hanah living with a Bow family in Ellenburg, In 1880 George is listed again with Hanah and John both in Clinton County. Altona Clinton County, NY. Looking forward to your reply.

Kindest Regards
Betsy Hockenberry Beaulieu
pq99web@comcast.net

Isaac Van Aernum 1704 from his marriage to Jannetje descendents line

I have recently started a family tree for my children entitled Claggett Family Tree. According to my father's family crest which was professionally done I descend to the Isaac and Jannetje Van Aernum line. I was born in Ft. Wayne, IN 1961 and my father is Frederick Harold Van Orman, Jr.(IN) his father is F. Harold Van Orman (MI), his father is Fred Van Orman (MI), and his father is Henry Van Orman. Henry Van Orman (sp?) who was born in PA in and that is as far as I have gotten which is around 1834. From our family crest it says that our family comes down from Isaac Van Aernum 1704 from his marriage to Jannetje

I see that you are working on this line too and I have copied many of your conversations with Doug for my files. Do you think we are distant relatives?

I have a few missing generations to connect my pedigree. Does anyone have any hints or names for me? This is fascinating work and I am enjoying it very much. Thanks

Susan Van Orman Claggett
I'm away from my records right now, but I can tell you that, according to my research, the Isaac who married Elizabeth is not the same Isaac as who married Jannetje Van Salsbergen, though I know one prominent source says so, and I was thrown off by it for a long time. Also, I have found birth records in Dutchess or Columbia county for all Isaac's children you name, all Jannetje's. As I recall, some of these births postdate the marriage of an other Isaac to Elizabeth. Are you a Luykas descendant?

According to my grandmother's work (and I am still working on finding records to prove everything) Isaac Vanaarnhem baptized 5/7/1704 married twice. First, to Jannetje Salisbury on 11/2/1722. Children were: Hendrick, Hester, Hendrick, and Cornelia. Second, to Elizabeth of Albany. Children were:
Sara, Jan, Rebecca, and Luykas. No death dates for the parents. ..... Luykas Van Arnum was baptized 8/3/1738 in Athens, N.Y. Luykas Van Arnum married Sara Payne. Children were: Isaac, Hendrick, Abraham, Peter, Rebecca, Debora, Jacob, Miles, and Luke.

Peter was baptized on 5 March 1776 at Schaghticoke and Rebecca was baptized on 27 March 1778 at Schaghticoke. Check out www. rootsweb.com\~nyrensse/sdrcbv.htm.

There were several Isaacs of this surname during this time period. Was this one identified as a brother to Luykas? Was there also an Abraham, perhaps a twin to Isaac? I've been looking for this documentation for a long time. I've rechecked the Schoharie records online but can't find it. Did your grandmother do research in New York or have other connections?

I am the granddaughter of Marguerite VanAernum (b.10/27/1893, Altamont, NY, d.2/24/1920). She is the daughter of Henry VanAernum (b.10/3/1860, Guilderland,NY,d.7/21/1921) and Anna Livingston (b.2/5/1870, Guilderland, d. 3/27/1899) who were married 9/18/1889. Anna was Henry's first wife, he later married Effie Lewis (b. 5/11/1871, Knox, NY, d.3/20/1924). Henry is the son of James H. (F.?) VanAernum (b.7/6/1822, Guilderland,NY, d.3/2/1910) and Margaret Blessing (b.6/13/1833, Guilderland, NY, d. 1/4/1866) who were married 11/12/1859. Margaret was James' second wife. James was first married to Hannah Maria Smith (b.6/26/1826, Knox, NY, d.7/11/1858) on 12/31/1846. James and Hannah had three children: Charles VanAernum (b. 8/30/1848,Knox, NY, d.7/4/1887), Mary E. VanAernum (b.10/15/1851, Albany, NY, d.2/4/1852, lived only a little over 3 months), and Emma VanAernum (b.4/14/1855, Guilderland,d.4/29/1902). James had a third wife, Jane E. Stephens (b.5/33/1829, Knox,NY,d.1/5/1912) who he married June 10, 1869 in Knox, NY and the witnesses were M. Schoonmaker, R. Schoonmaker, and William Earl. All of the above information is from a Centennial (1876) Edition Family Bible of the VanAernum family which is in the possession of my family. If you can connect to any of these lines, please contact me. Also, if you think you have the parents of James H. VanAernum, please contact me.

Look for the Bleeker map of Rensselaerwyck in 1767 if you want to see where he lived. Not my direct line but I've had to try to sort everybody out to make sense of the records.
The Van Arnum cemetery in Brunswick, by the way, was dug up and moved to 'Troy about 1870 for some reason.

She first married David Rusco who died 1 September 1825 at Rock Stream, Steuben Co., NY

Levines was born 10 Jan 176? and died 2 July 184? at the age of 74. His name appears in our family bible along with a son, also Levines Van Arnum, born 12 September 1833 and died 10 Oct 185? The ? represent the fact that I cannot read the many times xeroxed pages I was sent, and my source can't either.

The original source is the "Rusco Family Holy Bible published by Harper Bros. in 1846 at NY in the possession of Mrs. Ethna Hayner Flower, Haynersville, NY" I do NOT know how long ago that was, or if this lady is still around???

Searching for information on George Washington Van Arnum, thought to possibly be from New York, 1800's. I think he was a jeweler. George's wife's name may have been Rose. Their daughter, Ethel (second name may have been Rose) Van Arnum, married Howard Combs; they lived in Houston TX.
