I am connected to the Van Ormans that settled in St Clair County, Michigan. My ancestor is Abraham Van Orman, born March 6, 1844, in Port Huron, MI. We know Abraham is the father of my Great-Great Grandmother, Melvina Wise and Almina Doane is her mother, but we have no other information about Almina. I was wondering if the Van Orman family you are connected with, is the same family and if you have any information about Abraham and Almina.

Thanks

I have been recently researching Van Ormans in Overisel Twp., Allegan, MI. My 3rd great grandfather was Gerrit Van Orman. Born abt.1816 in the Netherlands, died November 27, 1880. His wife was Ann Bultman. They came to The U.S. through New York from a port in London, England on December 29, 1866. They had quite a few children. I'm going by the name Van Orman because that's what's on Gerrit's death certificate, however, I've seen this same family's name also spelled Van Omen, Van Ommen, and Van Omman. Any of this look familar to anyone?
Thanks.

My grgrandmother was Amanda Vanorman. I am looking for confirmation of her parents and siblings.

She married Orsemus Spencer in IN about 1841. They had 3 children - I am from Nelson, the youngest.

I found her marrying Richard Regester in 1853 in Perry Co Ohio and having 3 more children. I am 99.9% sure this is her, since be 1870, her 2 boys from Orsemus are living with her. I lose her by 1880. Anyone know where she went and where the Regester kids go?

I found somewhere that her parents are Miles J Vanorman and Charlotte Sams. Does anyone have the proof and the definitive list of children? I think my grgrandfather Nelson was living with her sister Elizabeth in 1860 - he was living with an Elizabeth Swopes (42 years old) in Perry Co in 1880.

You can contact me here or at sharon@anthrobytes.com. If you are related, I am so happy to share the Spencer info I have.

He served in the Spanish American War and died at the age of 30 in Oregon. I think his early death is why the family knows very little about his ancestory/history. His parents were Albert (Kansas) and Sarah F Davis (NY). I have had a horrible time trying to track this line, too.

I went to Detroit and found nothing about the family in all the microfilm I viewed at the public library.
Hi Rita...you are on my family tree...is your dad Frank Easlick? I have been researching for years now and I have the entire tree (i think) dated back to 1800 starting with Daniel Van Orman and Abby Kellog...They are my great, great, great grandparents....I have tons of pictures of everyone and letters and memoribilia...I come from the branch of Daniel Bradford Van Orman ( Phillips brother)...I just recently found Shirley Allen on Ancestory.com and found her to be a link to the family and I have an email out to her....I would love to share any information and hopefully get more....I am trying to make this tree massive...I will be happy to send you what I have including pictures. Please contact me Kcoy5@aol.com

I had left a message a while ago and did not really give any of the important information. Sorry. My husband's grandfather was Elmer Graves Van Orman. He was born 9-21-09 and died 4-15-1977. The death index says " last benefit Sacramento, CA " what does this mean?
I also pulled his SSN application and found the names of his parents. Mother: Mable Lubold Father: Ross Van Orman. I cannot find anything on the great grandparents and I do not know if Elmer had any siblings. This family is all from and around Bradford, Pa, Mc Keon county. I am at a stopping point so in anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it.
