Trying to research ancestor of my daughter-in-law, Abram VanAernam born April 1838 in NY (according to info from 1900 census)who married Jane Gourley of England born September 1844. Unable to find Abrams parents although the 1900 census gave the name of his sister, Kate Quandt born Oct 1830 NY is living with Abrahms family.

Have found no ships manifest or port of entry for this Van Aernam family HOWEVER I did come across another Abram Van Aernam who, in 1932, owned 184 acres of land in Mansfield, NY that could have been his father or other family member. Also listed as a lanld owner with Abram was a J B who owned 84 acres of land in Mansfield.

The town of Mansfield was going through transition from previous names of Cecilus and Little Valley . . .

Would appreciate any assistance on this . . .

Leslie

Re: Daniel W. VanAernam

I am searching for a Margaret VanAernam that married Jacob W . Maxwell. She was born May 10, 1810 in NY. They had 11 children. My info says this family was of Scotch-Holland/Dutch descent. I am not sure where this info came from though. Could this be one of your family? Joy

Daniel W. VanAernam

Seeking information about Daniel VanAernam, b. abt 1823, m. Lucy Beatta Nye 28 December 1847 in East Aurora, Erie County, NY, was in Berrian County, MI for the 1850 fed census, bought land in Wisconsin in 1848 1852, father of Frederick Snow Emma Beatta. Also living with Daniel in 1850 were A.P.(Abraham?) VanAernam Ann Amalia. Daniel was born in NY state, presumably in Dutch settled country west of Albany. Fred eventually lived in St. Louis, MO, but its unknown how he got there, that is, whether Daniel may have moved the family there. I have some information that Daniel his wife, Lucy, had a good relationship with his Nye in-laws, inherited some property from his father in law. This may indicate that he relocated back to NY state at some point.
