I am trying to connect Zebulon Baird Vance (May 13, 1830 - April 14, 1894) who was the governor of NC during the Civil War with the Vance ancestors from Ireland. The best lineage I have is:

Samuel Vance (b.1716 Coven, Ireland)->David Vance Sr. (b.1745 in NC d.1813) ->David Vance Jr. (b.1792 d.1844) -> Zebulon Baird Vance.
