Hi
Crofton Toler Vandeleur (1840-1884) married Charlotte Mary Bury in Dublin, in 1864. She was from Co. Cork and daughter of a clergyman. They were the grand-parents of John Ormsby Evelyn Vandeleur of WW2 fame.
Crofton Toler Vandeleur died in Brussels in 1884 - the family lived on the Continent for many years. His wife survived him, and in some editions of Burke's Landed Gentry her date of death is given as 1935. I haven't been able to find a death register entry in Irish or UK records - she may have died in Belgium or elsewhere in Europe. Of course, she may have re-married.
Anyone know anything about her life following her husband's death and where/when she died?
thanks & regards
Gerry
