father killed in ww2,anyone have info on Robert Faulkner?

My friend lost her father before she was born. She would be so happy to get any info. about him or his ancestors. His name was Robert Faulkner Vandusen,Van Duesen. He was born around 1917-18. he was married to Jeanne Braggins, and was killed in ww2. He was a Major in the Air Force. May of had a sister named Dorothy. Parents Nellie and (Walter?) both died around 1923. Dorothy and Robert were raised by a Kitty and George Kessler. I believe Kitty was an Aunt. Maybe in Pennsylvania or NY. Does anyone know ANYTHING?

Your list is of some, but not all of the children of Matthew's marriage. This is a second, possibly third, marriage being previous married to Lucretia Bartles and possibly a Margaret Hauser. In Albert Harrison's book about the Van Deusens, Matthew is unfollowed. He is the eldest son of Marten, # 102. He went to Phelps about 1797 and round about 1818 moved with his brother (Jacobus/Jacob/Jabes/James to (South ) Dumfries Township in what is now Brant County . A bible record emailed to me identifies the children of the last marriage as Jabey (dau) 1802, Jesse 1803, Lucretia 1805, Alfred 1807?, Adam 1809, Sophia 1811, Myron 1813, Lurania 1815, Chauncey 1817, Cornelia 18 ?, Melinda 1822-28, and Stacy 1824-28. Matthew is supposed to have died in 1828. Round about 1837 his sons went on to Kent County, Michigan.

Cornelius and Asenath VanDeusen/Dusen

Hello,
On a guess, I ordered the Pension Records for a Cornelius Van Deusen, who enlisted from Hudson, NY. to fight in the War of 1812. I received the records for Cornelius other than who I was looking for.
Some information on this Cornelius:
Died February 1813, while in the Army in Greenbush, Rensselaer County, NY
He and Asenath were married prior to his enlistment, no date given.
They had two children, Rachel who died at the age of 2 and Mathew, who died in 1834. (Asenath was not great with exact dates and in some instances, any dates at all).
He had a brother named, Mathew, who attested for the information that Asenath was giving the courts.
This request was made circa 1858-1860, Asenath was about 66 years old and now the widow of Charles Post. She was receiving $3.50 per month and they increased the amount to $4.00 on Cornelius service.
As she was receiving a monthly stipend, it would appear there must have been an earlier request that offered more information.

If anyone is interested please let me know.

Linda VanDeusen-Kintzing

Be careful - the VanDeusen line is NOT connected to Deurne. They are two different families. The connection that is made in the VanDeusen book is an error. I am in the process of documenting all of my VanDeusen research but I will gladly share any information that would be helpful to people. My line is from Abraham Pietersen VanDeurse -> Teuwis -> Robbert -> Jure -> Johannis -> Leonard -> Harry -> Thelma. Joan

George Vandeusen (Van Driesen), New York, Michigan

Looking for information on the following family:

George Van Driesen (born New York about 1815). Married Nancy Waggoner (born New York about 1819).

Children: Cynthia born New York June 1840
Mary born New York about 1843
Nelson born New York March 1846

The family moved to Adrian, Michigan before 1859. Cynthia married Thomas Brennan March 1859 in Adrian. I have most of the family on the Adrian Census 1860, 1870, and 1880. I have Cynthia in Adrian in 1910 and Nelson married to Mary E. (his second marriage) in 1900 and 1910. I have no record of George and Nancy after 1880. Cynthia was a matron for many years at the Michigan State Industrial School for Girls in Adrian. She died in Adrian in 1919.

Variations on the name include: Van Dreisan, Van Druesen, Van Duesen, Vandresen.

There may be a family connection to Troy, Albany and Syracruse New York.

Would love to correspond with anyone related to this family. I have information on the descendents of Cynthia Van Driesen and Thomas Brennan, who were my 2x great-grandparents.

TO: Sitzer debbi, et al!The book about the VanDeusen family is titled simply "Van Deursen Family" and was written by Captain Albert Harrison Van Deursen, pulished by Frank Allaben Genealogical Company, Number Three West Forty-Second Street, New York. I believe it was published right around 1900, and I found it at the Public Library in Picton, Ontario, Canada. There are two very thick volumes. It includes photographs, a map and lots of interesting history along with the geneology.I have notes somewhere about a reprint done not too long ago, but I can't find them. Perhaps some other family member knows where it is available and let us all know. Thanks!

The two books from Albert Harrison Van Deusen are available at the Rutger's University Referance Library in New Brunswick, NJ. It might be of interest to anyone reading it, that the castle in Deurne, Holland, is still in existance and now contains a bar named Walhalla. We are unable to link into the family tree, but have traced back to Henry L.R. Van Deursen, born approx. 1827 in New Jersey or New York. Does anyone know of this line?

My Boldman family was still in New York according to the 1800 census. They dissapeared and weren't on any census in 1810 and then showed up on the Ohio 1820 census. The family name is Boldman but I have seen it spelled Boolman on some early records. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. The name Samuel isn't used again in any of the Boldman family lineage and in those days, children were usually named after others in the family.
