I am looking for information on my grandfather Milton Vandyke and grandmother Laura Vandyke. They were born probably in the 1870's in Buchanon or close by.

Hi Shirley, I don't know of your grandfather Milton. but I am only gathering information on the Vandyke's at this time. I am working mostly on two other surnames, Lowe & Mitchell. but Vandyke will be next. if your grandfather was born in the Tazewell/Buchanan area, there must be a connection to my Vandykes. so I would be interested in any photo's, document's, or anything you may have from witch I can extract information. and I will be happy to do the same for you. my goal is to find the whole family. rather than just my line. So glad to hear from you. I am just getting started also and I too am sure that all the Vandyke's in that area are related. I will share any info that I find with you. I am planning a trip to that area in June ( my Mother still lives in North Tazewell) to search records and memories. There was a Mithchell family that lived out the street from us in North Tazewell. I would be glad to share with you my memories and I have at least one photo of the sons who moved to California in the 1950's.
