I am a VanDyke from Buchanan County, Va. I would like to exchange information. I have done extensive research.

My husband's family moved from Buchanon Co to Russell Co.
They tie back to Joseph Van Dyke who had about 22 children; also to the Looney family. My husband is John David Van Dyke, his father Perry Ellis Van Dyke, his father Reece Van Dyke who married Sarah Martha Looney, his father Jacob Van Dyke, his father Charles Van Dyke, his father Charles Van Dyke, his father John Van Dyke whose earliest record we found was in 1787, I believe. Would be very interested in your data.

Just re-read my message, and found I misinformed about Joseph Van Dyke. It was Joseph Looney who had so many children - The line back to John Vandyke is correct and he is who I am hunting for.
