GOLDBOURNE SAM (G.S.) VANHOOSE
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Goldbourne Sam (G.S.) Vanhoose, a lifetime Fairland resident, died at Integris Grove General Hospital, Saturday, April 12, 2003, after a brief illness. He was 75. He was born at Dodge, Okla., on April 13, 1927, to Sam and Gracie Barnes Vanhoose. He graduated from Fairland High School and attended NEO for two years. He married Ethyl (Kitty) King on February 25, 1950. He was a terminal manager for Roadway Express, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairland and a former member of the Lions Club in Miami.
Mr. Vanhoose was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister, Norma Jean Jackson. He is survived by three sons, Sam Vanhoose of Miami, Larry Vanhoose and wife Lisa of Fairland and Jim Vanhoose of Kansas; three daughters, Carol Dowell of Fairland, Nancy Pannell and husband Chuck of Fairland and Margie Ingram and husband Dan, of Miami; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at Fields Cemetery, south of the Dodge Baptist Church by Adcock Funeral Home of Fairland at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, with Rev. Andy Krebs officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Vanhoose, Kevin McNeely, Charles Evans, Brandon Roach, Curtis Pannell and Adam Ingram. A visitation will be from 7 - 8 p.m., Tuesday evening, at the funeral home. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Fairland
