i am serching for any firther information about the Vardy's in my family tree. The gossip among the family was the Vardy is a corruption of the spanish word "verdi" and that the family were originally immigrants - I can find no trace of this.

The people I am researching are;

Joseph Vardy (born 26.03.1872 Annesley Derby)
His parents were: Ferdinand Vardy (christened 23.06.1844 Normanton Derbys)
and Priscilla Burroughs (born 1849)
Ferdinand's parents were ( I think)
Charles Vardy and Lavinia or Seveina.
