I am looking for information on Walter Vaughan. The only information I have is as follows:
He shows up in the 1940 census for Grosse Pointe, Wayne County, Michigan, at the age of 29, in the home of his mother, Gertrude, age 57. He was born in Michigan and his mother was born in Illinois. His occupation is listed as song writer. My ancestor, Anna Swaney, is listed in this census as a maid. Based on the census, she did not do this full time and my Aunt's recollection is Anna was always in the Old Mission area of Michigan. I am trying to find out if there was any familial connection to the Vaughan family that would have brought her to the Detroit area, maybe just for the winter months. Anna's maiden name is Lardie and her mother remarried a DeGraw. I do not show any Vaughan's in my tree, so I don't know if she was somehow related to these people.
