Looking for information on a Martha Vaughan that married Meredith Vaughan. We believe that Meredith's parents were Richard Vaughan and Martha Posey. Meredith G was listed on the census as a child of Richard/Martha. As a child myself I always heard that a Vaughan married a Vaughan. So we believe that Meredith G married Martha Vaughan. We have no proof of anything except family Bible records show Meredith and Martha being the parents of Eliza b. ca1862, Jim(James) b.? but had daughter Allie D (said to be retarted), Joe b.1864 m. Lizzie, John (twin of Joe) b.1864 (census of Rutherford Co. TN shows 2 years difference but family says twins), Benjamin b. 1869 (my grandfather), Richard b. 1873 m. Nannie Hayes, Will W. b.1871 m. Ella Maxwell, and last was Edna and mother listed as unknown. We (the family) believe Meredith was the son of Richard but we do not know anything about Martha or that she was in fact a Vaughan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
