Georgia,My mother lived with your Aunt Jewel in Springfield IL in the 1940's and worked at the statehouse. The irony of finding her at this site is my mother, Lena, is the daughter of Lawrence and Mamie Carlen. Mamie was the daughter of Charles and Maude Ellen (Van Tassel) Vaughn. They all lived in the Jack Oak community near Greenup IL. Both Maude and Mamie lived into their 90's. Grandma Vaughn also had a brother named Cyrus. Mom will be tickled to learn there might actually be a family connection with her dear friend from so many years ago. Bill Wofford
