I have some information on Mathias Vaught. He is my gggg grandfather. He fought in the Revolutionary War, and lost a leg in hand-to-hand combat in the Battle of Cowpens. He had a wooden leg because of that. Their daughter, Mary Sweet Vaught was sister to Peter Vaught Sr., my ggg grandfather. I don't have pictures of Mathias, but if you visit the Horry County Historical Society site, you can find pictures of Peter Sr. and his son, Peter Jr. The index of pictures address is: http://www.hchsonline.org/photos/index.html. My grandfather, Henry Vaught, was born in Russelville, KY or Russel County, KY. He lived near Portland or White House or Springfield Tennessee with his wife, Ada Martin. They married in 1894. I believe she was 16 and he was in his 20's. He died in Eberfeld, Indiana. She in Evansville, Indiana.

He was the baby of his family. He and his father were blacksmiths.

If this connects to any other Vaughts I would appreciate knowing about them.

This is an old message so you probably have already found more information. Just in case, though, Elijah Fields Baugh's parents were Matilda DeBoard and Lewis Henry Baugh. Lewis went by "Henry." Matilda's parents were Nancy Godbey/Godby and Edmund DeBoard/DeBord of Pulaski Co., Ky.

There is a Netter Vaught buried in Cools Springs Church Cementary in Ohio county Kentucky. His wife is Amelia He had a daughter Annie Elizabeth Vaught Taylor. If this is the one you are inquiring about I can see if I can get more information. He was my Great grandfather.
