The following transaction found on pages 744 and 745 of the document, "THE REGISTER OF THE GREAT SEAL OF SCOTLAND, A.D. 1609-1620" apparently shows that Katherine Vaus (Vans) as the spouse of William Houston of Cotreoch (Whithorn Parish, Wigtownshire). I am working on getting a translation of this and will provide that at a latter time to anyone who might be interested. In addition, I can provide the scanned-in image of the original document for those who are collecting documentation for their database.
