I am not a Veeder. I am not related to Veeder. I found a DAR application dated 1914 online and purchased it, so that others can benefit from it here. If you would like a copy mailed to you, please email me at KatOwens@aol.com. I do not check this boar for messages that may be left for me.

The following is the information on the DAR application (to the best of my ability to read the difficult writing):

Mrs. Annie Gregg, wife of Thomas Gregg of 849 ____ Street, Schenectady, NY applied for the membership for Garret S. Veeder.

Garret S. Veeder was born in Schenectady on 7/4/1751 and died in Schenectady 2/18/1836.

Annie Gregg (applicant) is the daughter of Henry G. Veeder, born 1817 and died 1890. His wife was Helen B. Newkirk, born 1818 and died 1897. They were married 1840.

Henry Veeder was the son of Matthew Zenezels(? unsure of spelling) Veeder, born 1788 and died 1824. His wife was Maria Dewitt, born 1787 and died 1861.

Matthew Zenezels(? unsure of spelling) Veeder was the son of Garret S. Veeder born 7/4/1836 and Jane Zenezels(? unsure of spelling), born May 5 and died 8/31/1824. They married on 1/12/1782 at Esophus on the Hudson.

Garret S. Veeder is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of Lt. Captain.

Garret S. Veeder enlisted in July 1775 as First Lt. under Captain John Myndese(? unsure of spelling) and Col. Abraham Wemple(? unsure of spelling) in State of NY. 3/1/1776 to end of war, acted as Captain of Company in 4th battalion under Cornelius D. Wynbook(? unsure of spelling).

Battalion engaged in taking of Burgoyne(? unsure of spelling).
