It looks like Vegiard which is French-Candian and is often Vegiard-LaBonte.

If your familly is from Italy you can try with Croatia and Australia. I looking for Vegar in Argentina and tink Vegards can be changed surname of Vegar. Croatian history can be in Austria, Italy and Hungary.

Researching the Vegard family. My grandmothers maiden name was Rahchel Vegard. She married Carmine (also known as Charles or Charlie) Ferraro ( named Fario until mid 1900s) They lived in the Elmira NY area specificially Southport NY. They had 8 or 9 children. She was born in Italy. She died in 1929 at a relatively young age. This such an unusual name I hope to be able to trace it back to its Italian roots. Any connections ? Please respond.
