Hi.

I'm new as administrator of this board. I don't know where you old admin went, but it's just you and me now, and I thought I'd say hello and tell you a few things.

You may already know that posts to this board are gatewayed to the Venne mailing list. If you'd like to join that list, just send a new message to Venne-request@rootsweb.com and put just the word subscribe in the subject line. That will do it for you.

Also, there are a few "rules" that I'm supposed to tell you about. Sorry..... :o)

The first one is really important. When you type up your message, either new or reply, please put the surnames that are IN your message in the surname box. Not all those you are researching, just those you're talking about in your current post. And, please separate them with a comma... not a / , not a - , or a * , or anything else. This is for the convenience of those who are searching the archives, which are referenced by surname.

The classification box is pretty easy. Query covers most everything. But, if you have something specific like a will, or an obituary, please be sure to mark the right classification.

The rest are the common ones. Don't flame anyone (and, please don't respond on the list if someone flames you, just let it drop), don't send spam, make sure your messages are on topic.... the usual board stuff. So far, I haven't found many problems on this score, but I did want to mention it.
