I am seeking to learn if any of my ancestors have a connection to England. The original VERMILLION ancestor who came to the United States was a GILES VERMILLION, who is reported to have been born in Wales in 1685 and came to America in 1698 as an indentured servant. I have heard that a VERMILLION was once knighted by King Edward VI for his work as an engineering adviser to the court, but I have not been able to confirm this story.
