John Vernal, Franklin, NY VT, 1775-1857

I am looking for information on John Vernal (1775-1857) who was married to Sophia Spooner. They lived in Franklin Co. both in NY and VT. I understand that John was a judge and owned a tavern in NY. I am particulalry interested in finding out about John's parents and ancestors.
