Chris had breast cancer but overcame that. Then a couple of years ago she had to have a complete hysterectomy when they found ovarian cancer. She had battled it for the past two years or so and it finally finished her back in April. I really miss her so much. her parents died within about ten days of one another back in 2002. Chris' sister, Carol, still lives in Silver Springs. She's the last on my uncle's side.

I am so sorry to hear of Chris's passing away. Much too young! I am a Hospice nurse..was she sick very long? I am very sorry to hear this. How about her parent's, I know you mentioned she was caring for them. Does her sister remember our family? Our last name was Hughes, i believe her sister was about the same age as my brother Kenny. I remember one time her mother picked us up to take us to school.( We were in the 1st or 2nd. grade) and I smashed my finger in the back door of their car...ouch!
Herout Family

Don,
Good to hear from you. My great-grandfather Veselik was married to Anna Herout, the daughter of Josef Herout and Eleonora Tomas. The Veseliks and Herouts came to America in 1884 and settled in Wisconsin in the Racine area. Josef Herout had four daughters who came to America with him and one son, Josef Jr. Josef was married to a Josephine Kastanek, as I recall, and they had at least two children, maybe three. Two were girls, one named Blanche, and I think there may have been one boy, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Josef died in 1914. In the 1900 census, his wife is listed as a widow although he was still alive. Must have been an unpleasant breakup. I know about the Herouts in Bohemia a couple of generations past Josef Sr. The Herouts and Veseliks were from County Usti nad Orlici in eastern Bohemia. There are, however, other Herouts in the United States who come from some other line. Get back in touch if it sounds like this may be close to you line.

She was the daughter of Charles Luther Perkins and Alvine (Alvina/Alvinia) Veseley (Vesely/Vesele). Grandma always said she was Bohemian and seemed to speak a little. Could we be relatives? I'm stumped on this line. Thanks for the help.

Veselik Family of Bohemia/Racine, Wisconsin

Looking for relatives through my great-grandfather, Tobias Veselik (1854-1949), born Vracovice, Bohemia. Tobias came to America in
1884 to Racine, Wisconsin. His brother, Jan, had come with his family the previous year and also settled in Racine. Jan was born in 1842
an died in 1915. Tobias married Anna Heroutova, the daughter of Josef and Eleonora (Tomas) Herout. Josef and Eleonora came to
America with several of their children at the same time as did Tobias and Anna. Jan was married to Sophie Novotna and they had several
male children. Both Tobias and Jan were from County Usti nad Orlici in eastern Bohemia. I have information on the Veselik line back to the Vesely spelling in old records. My earliest ancestor discovered through the Czech archives is Mikulas (Nicholas) Vesely, who was born about 1684. I also have lots of info about the Herout and Tomas families, etc. Josef Herout had several daughters and one son. One daughter married a Mares, another a Mikulecky. The son married a Kastenek.
