She was born 15 June 1889 in Prezik, Austria, and immigrated to the US sometime in the early 1900's. I have found her in the US Federal Census of 1920 and 1930 in Kansas City, KS. Her brother, Frank Vessel, was listed on the census as living with them.
Any family information would be appreciated.
Darrel
I am looking for the parents of Elizabeth Vessells b. 1827 that married Nathan Sapp b. 1823 in 1846. In the 1850 census they live very close to John vessell and Anna Sapp Vessell, but it does not list Elizabeth as a child on anything that I have seen.. It looks like she would have been their 1st child if she is a child of theirs. I cannoy find other Vessells that look right for her. Do you have any information on Elizabeth vessells? Please Share if you do.
Thanks
Linda Mast

Aaron Z. VESSEL - Sarah COOPER in Oklahoma

Aaron Z. VESSEL was born April 23, 1886 in Louisiana and died March 28, 1962 in San Bernardino, CA. His death certificate lists his mother's maiden name as MICHAEL. He was married to Sarah Elizabeth COOPER who was born April 9 1890 in Arkansas and died April 24, 1961 in San Bernardino, CA. Her death certificate lists her mother's maiden name as MALICO. They had at least one daughter, Florence Magoline VESSEL born July 9, 1921 in Trousdale, Pottawatomie Co. OK and died December 1986 in Stillwater, Payne Co. OK. Florence married on October 17, 1936 to Merl Edwin LILE who was born October 22, 1904 and died in February 1989. Does anyone know who are the parents of Aaron Z. VESSEL? Family history repeats the story of an American Indiana connection to these VESSEL-MICHAEL-COOPER-MALICO marriages.

Hello Mary
I always thought the Z stood for Zacharia - but I'm not absolutely certain. Aaron was my Great-Grandfather and his son Sidney , my grandfather.Where do you fit in to the Vessel family - it would be nice to hear from some of my distant relatives. I was just visiting my brother Gary in Utah last week and he showed me a copy of the census taken in Oklahoma I think in the 1930 - it listed Aaron and his wife and their children. What do you know of the Vessel family before our arrival in America. I've heard that the Vessel surname comes from the norhtern part of Germany , Bremen and that area. Have you heard this before. Well let me know what you think.
Regards, Jerry

Correction: William Vessell owned a livery and feed store. (Often referred customers to a blacksmith.) Also have info on the 2 Vessells who were in the Civil War. Cornelius got a diability pension from the Civil War...farmed after that. I am married to Nancy, who recently retired from teaching, and we have two children: Christopher and wife, Sharon, Vessell and Laura Vessell. Had a phone call this winter from some guy in Calif. wanting to know if we were related to some Vessell back-up singers from in and around Milwaukee, Wis. from the l940-50 era... Do you know anything about this/ We did not.....

Mike My Simon Vesses is the son of George W Vessel born inKy. andMary Moore. Simon was in Union Co., Ill in the 1870 census. This co. is close to Saline Co, Ill Simon married Louisa inRandolph Co., Ill All these counties are close to each other. Simon went back to Perry Co somethinm after the 1880's I did not find him again until their daughters , Mary baptism in 1896 in Perry Co. Mo . He then died in 1900. These Vessells are possibly related. Also the father of George is Charles Vessels (born about 1790) and Catherine Howard. Madonna

Zach was the son of William H Vessels and Unknown (the fourth wife). William H Vessels was a Circuit Rider Preacher and was know to have been in Arkansas, Louisana, Alabama, Texas. In fact he died in Grayson County, Texas near Sherman. Mary

But I have been talked into putting it
on disk this winter. It will be in Adobe format and any Adobe
reader will work to read it.

till later
Darrell
