Here is a paper that my dad and I found. I copied it word for word. Feel free to use this and let me know if you find any connections.
Jacob Fredrick Vester was born Nov. 4, 1816 in Grossbottwar, Germany. Near the year of 1839 he was married to Caroline Christine Fink, born March 2, 1814 in Grossbottwar, Germany. To this union were born six children: Frederick, Fredericka, Christine, Carl, Jacob, and Caroline, all born in Grossbottwar, Germany. All lived there until they came to this country.
In the summer of 1865 Frederick, the eldest son, corssed teh ocean in a sailboat and was on the water 65 days. He worked on a farm near Green HIll, Indiana. He enjoyed living in this country and this encouraged his parents and family to come to this country. They came in March 1868, in one of the first steam ships which crossed teh ocean in 11 days. They came directly to Green Hill, Indiana, and bought a farm about one mile southeast of Green HIll. Grandfather and Grandmother Vester spent the rest of their lives on this farm. Grandfather died December 6, 1889 at the age of 73 years and Grandmother died April 21, 1890 at the age of 76 years.
Johann Federick Vester was born July 22, 1841 and came to this country at the age of 24. He was married to Elizabeth Schmit and to this union were born John, Jacob, Michael, and George. Frederick Vester died Jan. 22, 1907, at the age of 66.
Fredericka Vester was born July 7, 1845 and was married to John Michael Bender in Jan. 15, 1871, and to this union were born Jacob, Caroline, Frederick and Charles. Two other sons died in early youth. Fredericka Bender died Dec. 8, 1927 at the age of 82. John Michael Bender died Dec. 3, 1919 at the age of 84.
Christine Vester was born Oct. 31, 1946 and was married to Martin B. Miller on Jan. 28, 1871 and to this union were born Rose, Elizabeth (deceased) and Cleveland. They lived in Taylorville, Illinois.
Carl Vester was born September 19, 1848 and was married to Minnie Frichel (born 1859) on March, 1875. To this union were born Fred, Mary (deceased), Elizabeth, Carl, Amelia, and William. Carl Vester died March 21, 1934. Minnie Frichel Vester died in 1946.
Jacob Vester was born Feb. 11, 1852 and was married to Mary Fischer on March 3, 1878. To this union were born Herman, Charles, Minnie, William, and Fredericka. Jacob Vester died in 1935. Mary Fisher died Aug. 31, 1944.
Caroline M. Vester was born June 21, 1855 and was married to Herman F. Beutler on March 5, 1878. To this union were born Charles, Oscar, Herman (deceased), Helena, Emma, Dorothea, and Edward. Herman F. Beutler died in 1920. Caroline M. Beutler died Jan. 18, 1939 at the age of 83.
Most of the first and second generation Vesters are buried in the Downs or Asbury Cemetery located 3 miles North East of Green Hill, Indiana
