Walter & Laura Vicary were living in Waterloo at the time my mom (Annabelle) and my Uncle Dick were adopted. Believe it was around 1922 as they were 5 and 3 at the time. Walter & Laura did not move to Chelsea until April 1960.
Judy (Woolley) Kettunen - daughter of Annabelle.

Hi Robin-

My name is Walter Vicary Bovee; my grandfather was Walter Bawden Vicary and I am named after him. To my knowledge, he did not adopt any children. He and my grandma had three; Emily (my mom), Douglas and June.

If you see Tom Lawrence's message, my grandpa is the same man-born in Michigan on Feb 24, 1891, that Tom refers to. Walter Vicary's sibs were Laura May, Jack, Edgar, Arthur, Russell, Ruth and one other whose name I don't remember.

My e-mail is boveestokey@sbcglobal.net

Best, Vic

Cole, Parker, Vicary Michigan Census Records Needed 1880-1930

We believe that Myrtle Parker may have been married to Carlton Parker between the years of 1913-1917.
We believe that Myrtle was married to Carlton Parker under the name of Myrtle Cole due to her having 2 children with the last name of COLE. So this also leads us to believe that she was married before to a man with the surname COLE and that he possibly may have been in WW1 and perished leaving Myrtle a widow.
Her married to COLE would possibly have taken place between the years of 1908-1916.
So my search would then be this:
Carlton Parker to Myrtle Cole 1913-1917
(First Name?) Cole to Myrtle (maiden name?) 1909-1916

Her children being:
Ashalino Cole
Bertrand Cole
Annabelle Parker
Kenneth Parker (a.k.a. Richard Vicary) DOB: Nov. 7, 1919

Where Kenneth Parker was born may determine where Carlton Parker and Myrtle Parker were married and what county. Their address at the time of this January 5, 1920 Census when Kenneth Parker (a.k.a. Richard Vicary) was 2 mos. old was:
932 Ganson Street (?)
Dwelling NO.114
Jackson, Michigan
Jackson County

RECORDS we are wanting:
Birth/Death Records for Carlton Parker and Myrtle Parker
Obituary/Gravesite information for Carlton Parker and Myrtle Parker
Marriage/Divorce Records for (first name?) Cole to Myrtle (maiden name?) 1909-1916
Marriage/Divorce Records for Carlton Parker to Myrtle Cole 1913-1920
Birth Certificate for Kenneth Parker Nov. 7, 1919
Names of biological parents on birth certificate
Adoption Records for Kenneth Parker (a.k.a. Richard Vicary) 1920-1927
Alathena Home Records for Annabelle and Kenneth Parker 1920-1927
1910,1920,1930 Census Records for surnames: Cole, Parker, Vicary
Jackson, Michigan Directories, 1887-88, 1890
Jackson County, Michigan Rural Directory, 1918-23

Please call, fax or email me should you be able to direct me to who would hold any or all of these records.
Phone & Fax: (574) 566-2291
Email: vicary@bnin.net

Ian, My Vicarys (Viccory,Vicory,Vicry,Vickrey,Vikory) appear in Kent Co, Delaware starting in 1685 when John secured 100 acres of land. They are very industrious and acquire more land until in 1800 when they couldn't pay the taxes. Many documents attest to their presence in DE, and with many families that they intermarried with: Bostick, Cardeen, Raleigh, Birdwell, and others.
