Am searching for parents and children of John E. VICKERMAN.
John's wife, Jane A. Ploss, was b.1841, Harmony, Chautauqua, NY, dau. of Peter PLOSS and Elizabeth BROWN. She m.John E. VICKERMAN ~1861-1867, either in Chautauqua Co. or Madison Co., NY, or in western Pennsylvania.
John, purchased property from Jane's bro., Martin PLOSS, in 1866, in Chautauqua Co., NY. He (John E.) is listed as resident of Chenango, Madison, NY, when he buys property. When he sold the property in 1867, both he and wife, Jane, are listed on the deed and are residents of Rouseville, Warren, PA.
John either had a son or grandson, Arthur, who, listed as an heir (and Pittsburgh resident) in the will of John Willard PLOSS, who died 1930, in Mayville, Chautauqua Co., NY. John Willard PLOSS was brother to Jane A. (PLOSS) VICKERMAN.
John E. VICKERMAN and family eventually moved from Rouseville, Warren, PA, to Pittsburgh, Allegheny, PA, probably during the 1870s. When John and wife, Jane, applied for John's soldier's pension from Civil War, they were listed as Pittsburgh residents.
Jane was alive in Dec., 1908, because her sister's (Martha) obituary states that Martha died at home of her sister, Mrs. VICKERMAN, of Pittsburgh, PA.
