Anthony P. Vilella, (Tony), 76, of Lansing, MI died March 30, 1992 at a local hospital.
Mr. Vilella was a recident of Lansing for 60 years, a founding parishioner of St. Gerard Catholic Church, one of the orginators of the Ushers Cllub and St. Gerard; and a 4th Degree Knight of Colombus.
He and his borther, Tom Falvo, originally started TNT Grocery, Operating it for 27 years, an dbuilt All Star Bowling Lanes. He was a founding member of the Italian-American Club of Lansing, MI; long-time volunteer of Lansing General and Red Cross; and long time member of the board of directors of the Michgian Bowling Proprietors Association.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Josephine (Sam) Belsito, Pat (Gordon) Stoney, Philip (Darline) Vililla, and Thomas (Shawn) Vilella; 17 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sisters, Theresa Logeonelo and Catherine Gadaleto; and sister-in-law, Angela Falvo.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Falvo.
Services were held April 2, at the St. Gerard Church with Fr. Paul (I can not read the complete name of the priest) Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. This cemetery is in Lansing, MI on Willow Hwy.
Pallbearers were William Staley, Anthony Vilella, Frank Gadaleto, Bert Logeonelo, Stanley Kuster, and Louis Corsino. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Belsito, Gordon Stoney, Andrew Corsino, Joseph Gadaleto, Cass Sielia, Leo Gezell, Joe Laforgia, Fred Watters, John Falvo, and Frank Guidice.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Ingham Medical Center Coronary Care Unit.
