Bruno Villella was my great grandfather, my grandmother is Carmella Getz (Villella being her maden name) and this is about as far back as I have on our family tree. At first I wasn't sure it was the same family but you and Bruno let me know that it is.....I know Bruno was married to Teresa that being my grandmothers parents......but if ANYONE knows more and could contact me to give me more information on our family and ansestry I would appreciate it. This is your cousin Genna. My grandfather is Carl Villella and his brother is named Bruno. My grandfather resides in Baden but lived in Ambridge. I am Jody Villella's daughter.

My grandfather was Antonio Villella, from Mota Santa Lucia Calabria Italy. He came to the U.S. in 1900 on a ship from Naples. He seteled in Barnesboro, PA and went to work in the coal mines. He was killed in a mine explosion in November 1922, that killed 71 other men. He left his widow Caterina Bonacci Villella and 9 children.

My great-grandfather was Giuseppe Villella from MSL. I don't know of any Anthony's in the tree.

Trying to help my cousin and was wondering if anyone might have some info for us about The Villella family from Motta Sata Lucia. I believe Anthony came over around 1900 and his wife was Catherine Catarina Bonaccia. He may have been over here before this also. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Jeff

Anthony P. Vilella, (Tony), 76, of Lansing, MI died March 30, 1992 at a local hospital.
Mr. Vilella was a recident of Lansing for 60 years, a founding parishioner of St. Gerard Catholic Church, one of the orginators of the Ushers Cllub and St. Gerard; and a 4th Degree Knight of Colombus.
He and his borther, Tom Falvo, originally started TNT Grocery, Operating it for 27 years, an dbuilt All Star Bowling Lanes. He was a founding member of the Italian-American Club of Lansing, MI; long-time volunteer of Lansing General and Red Cross; and long time member of the board of directors of the Michgian Bowling Proprietors Association.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Josephine (Sam) Belsito, Pat (Gordon) Stoney, Philip (Darline) Vililla, and Thomas (Shawn) Vilella; 17 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sisters, Theresa Logeonelo and Catherine Gadaleto; and sister-in-law, Angela Falvo.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Falvo.
Services were held April 2, at the St. Gerard Church with Fr. Paul (I can not read the complete name of the priest) Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. This cemetery is in Lansing, MI on Willow Hwy.
Pallbearers were William Staley, Anthony Vilella, Frank Gadaleto, Bert Logeonelo, Stanley Kuster, and Louis Corsino. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Belsito, Gordon Stoney, Andrew Corsino, Joseph Gadaleto, Cass Sielia, Leo Gezell, Joe Laforgia, Fred Watters, John Falvo, and Frank Guidice.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Ingham Medical Center Coronary Care Unit.

hi, i'm researching my family histort also. my ggggrandfather frank villella from calabria italy, married to mary mastrionni from calabria, came to the u.s through ellis island, had daughter, elizabeth who died at age 1, into new york, had a son, william, moved to connecticut, had a second son, august, then married amelia from calabria, who had joseph and john.

Thanks for responding :) actually, my twin sister and I were adopted together, my sister now lives in Winston-Salem North Carolina and I live here in San Marino, Ca. where I have lived most of my entire life. We are now 33 yrs old, and were born on
January 19, 1968 in Los Angeles Ca. Our birthmother's maiden name is "BJORKLUND" and we were born under the names "Baby Girl's VILLELLA" Our birthmother was about 25 yrs old at the time, was divorced and had four children, 3 boys ages (approx) 8,7 & 4 yrs old and a 5 yr old daughter. They were all from Minnesota and returned there after our birth. Do you think you might know who our birthmother is or our half siblings might be?? We would love to meet them all! it would mean the world to us :) Let me know if you might know something...

I received your message, I do not know if this is the same person or not. Are you looking for your twin? Are you the one that is searching for her other half?
I was contacted by an agency possibly one that you hired, if you are the one that is searching for her sister. I have no news, and you so far are the only one who has responded. I also am from Minnesota and married a Villella. I have asked around in our family and haven't come up with any info as of yet.

Hi, my relatives, I recall hearing them talk, came through Penn. then via Chicago to Minneapolis. I moved from Minneapolis to Las Vegas in 1993. I had two relatives named Joseph. One was my Uncle Joseph Villella, born about 1904, and one with Villelli(Joseph) as a last name who was a brother of my grandfather, Frank Villella, born about 1880...all in Italy.

My grandmother spelled her name Vallelli, but her parents must have changed it. They couldn't speak english when they came to the US in 1905.

My gg grandfather was Francesco Villella he married Chiara Pallone, they had 6 children. Tommassina, Angelina (my grandmother), Maria, Natale, Paolo and Elia. They originated from Falerna, and they emigrated back to Pittsburgh in about 1934.

Looking for Pa Villella's also. g grandfather was Dominick with a name change to Willard back to Villello. (Also seen spelled Velallo) Found Nucenza Villella from my hometown Glassport Pa died 1967. See any connection.
