I have some material (collected by a now-deceased relative) that indicates a long Vine link with the New Forest/Southampton area. My great-grandfather was a Henry Vine, a master saddler, who had a business at Totton. The line traces back through various Vines in Otterbourne and to an "Old Vinne" at Shamblehurst in the early 1600s. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has been researching along these lines. I'm happy to share the material I have with anyone interested.
