I was reading this message board and I am a Vipperman in a very twisted and tangled way. As I understand my grandfather James Cochran was a Vipperman but was adopted by the Cochran family. His mother's last name was Spangler. He died in 1976 and was burried on the parkway. We have a family cemetary on Blue Ridge parkway that dates back to the Civil War. Some of my family lives in the Meadows of Dan area. But this is all that I know.
