I am looking for information on my grandmother,Evalyn{Eva}Vittetoe. I know that their family was from around the Sigourney,Iowa area. Her dad's name was H.C.Vittetoe and I believe her mom's name was Martha Ellen. Her mom die giving birth and left my great grand father to raise the children. He also passed away at a very young age,April 5th 1903. Her siblings names were ,Jas B,Blance,Odessa, John C. Walter R ,Hiram T. Odessa married a Hollingsworth.My grand mother married my grandfather,Earl Laird, on Dec. 20th,1909 in Greely, Colorado, weld county. They were from Nunn Colorado.Witnesses were Ethyl Eastlack and Earnest Laird.They had 4 chidren, Lealand, LLwellyn, Donald Forrest,{my father] and a younger child that passed away. At what age I don't know. My grand mother passed away very young, my dad was ony 12 years old. Until recently when my mother passed away I had never even seen a picture of my grand mother Laird. I knew she was buried around Ollie Iowa. I have a picture of my dad and Lealand standing in a cemetery, at a grave site, with a lady, but I don't have a clue who it is. She Passed away in Mt. Pleasant Iowa.I have several pictures of her. I recently visited Sigourney Iowa and tried to find some information on her family. She must be in an umarked grave. But I think we found her Mother's grave in Bethel cemetery. I also pulled up a news paper articale on a Vittetoe family reunion, that was held at the Amana Holiday Inn on Sun. April 25th 2004, Sister Marie Vittetoe spoke on family history. I would love to know if this is part of my family. I am coming back to Iowa in Oct. and my brother ,sister and are planning another trip to Sigourney to see if we can locate some of her relatives.I would love to know more about her life.
