Can anyone help please?

I am trying to establish the link between the Volney and Montague names to my paternal Davison family

My paternal g-grandfather George Davison was born about 1848 in Rainton, County Durham, England and he married Dorothy Ann Robson about 1870 She was born 1851 in Orrell, Lancashire, England.

Their children were as follows:

Gerald Marshall Davison
(b.1871) in Wath-upon Dearne, South Yorkshire.
George Marshall Davison
(b.1871) As above. (Twin).
Volney Montague Davison
(b.1874) County Durham.
Florence Montague Davison
(b. 1877) Wath-upon-Dearne.
Bertram Wilmot Davison
(b. 1881) Wath-upon-Dearne.
Godrey Daniel Davison
(b. 1885) Darfield, South Yorkshire.
Sidney Austin Davison
(b.1894) at 4 Albert Road, West Melton, South Yorkshire. (Sidney was my father's father).

Sidney married Lydia Mary Hornby who was born at 12 Long Lane, Bridlington, East Yorkshire and my father, who was baptised George Austin Davison was born March 17 1918 also at 12 Long Lane, Bridlington. Lydia was the daughter of George Hornby and Fanny Fussey.

I know that the Davison's were involved in mining in the Durham area, and that land was leased from a William Davison to a Montague and two Wortley brothers in the very early 1800's. There must be a reason why some of my Davison family have Montague and Volney as their first and middle names and am hoping someone can help me find the connection. Were they all business partners, or was it through marriage?

Thank you
