With deep respect to the family, I report the following.
Earle Voorhies died August 11, 2006, at age 93, in West Covina, CA. He was a well-known classical pianist and professor of piano at California universities. His wife, Irene, predeceased him. His surviving children are Lee Fernandez of Redwood City, CA; Sarah Voorhies of Sebastopol, CA; Daven Voorhies of Houston, TX; and Coerte Voorhies of Bowie, MD.
A memorial service is planned for Sept 16, 2006, in South Pasadena, CA.
Contributions in his name can be made to the Voorhies Young Artist Guild Scholarship Fund, c/o The Music Teachers' Assn. of California, 833 Market St., Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 91403.
