My Voorhis line comes from my father's mother's side of the family. The earliest Voorhis I know I am connected to is a Joseph A. Voorhis born about 1850 in Ohio. He was living in Union township, Warren County, OH in 1880 according to the US census. His wife was named Celina her maiden name was Hurley. They had a daughter (my g grandmother), Louisa M. Voorhis (1877), and a son Joseph Voorhis (1879). That is all the info I have, the voorhis' do not appear in later censuses that I have searched. Any one out there that might have a connection?
